Teamwork Makes the Dream Work: The DG Collision Repair Team

DG Collision TeamDan — Owner/Operator DG Collision

As we’ve previously mentioned, owner Dan Gogh of DG Collision Center started his career in auto body as an apprentice. He was 12 years old. Click here to read the whole story. Over the past several years, he has lovingly detailed, repaired, restored, painted and assembled thousands of cars. At DG Collision Center, he focuses on collision repair for damage caused by traffic accidents.

When he made the purchase of the shop it came with a spray booth and frame straightening equipment and pretty much all the furniture in the office. But out of all the assets that came with the building the most important are the team members. The core employees from C&L decided to stay with the shop and join the DG Team. Today Dan is taking the opportunity to introduce you to the DG Family Known as the DG Collision Center Dream Team!

DG Collision Team LuisLuis — All Aspects of Collision Service

He started his career with C&L autobody 25 years ago at the age of 16 and has worked with DG since its inception 7 months ago. Luis is an integral player on our team because his abilities are multi-faceted. He holds a certification for estimating through CCC which is a nationally recognized software for valuing damages caused by an accident. He holds I-Car certification in the estimating field as well.

On top of writing estimates Luis also handles ordering parts and managing production out in the shop. Because he knows how to work on cars you can find him in the shop lending a hand and sometimes handling repairs all by himself. He has the experience to fix most issues we deal with and is not afraid to get his hands dirty. Luis has a great attitude and knows that customer satisfaction is our number one priority.

Luis is attracted to this field because he likes cars and enjoys learning about how to repair them. His favorite Job was a 1965 Volkswagen Bug that he completely disassembled and reassembled by himself. His tool of choice is a cordless ratchet. Luis is proud to be a part of the team because we all work together to complete projects. When away from the shop Luis enjoys Fishing and watching sports with his family. His favorite sport is soccer. He is married with two sons and two granddaughters.

Like I said before, Luis is a key player and without him. We wouldn’t be able to get things done the way we do!

Ed — Structural Collision Repair

Ed DG Collision Team
The newest member to the team, Ed has only worked at DG but already has earned his keep within the team as his skill and experience has raised the level of our expertise. Eds qualifications are vast and he holds multiple certifications in I-Car Gold class frame and structural repair. He is certified in osha 10 safety and graduated from LA trade tech schools autobody certification course. Mr. Contreras also attended Cerritos community college where he received credentials for automotive repair estimating. Ed is our body and frame technician.

What attracted ed to autobody repair is sub structure repair and replacement. He really enjoys fixing Tough damages. His favorite part of the trade is fixing high end vehicles like Mercedes BMW and Porsches. More specifically on these cars he likes to repair frame and substructure to factory specs using I-Car and ALL DATA guidelines and specifications.

Ed’s favorite Job was a 1973 Porsche 911 frame reconstruction on which he performed structural component replacement and realigned the vehicle to factory specs. Needless to say Ed is a perfectionist.

Out of his nearly $20,000 in snap on tools his favorite ones are the slap hammer and dolly. Ed is proud to be a part of the team because we are all honest and forthcoming. He likes the family like environment and tension-free atmosphere.

Ed lives at home with his wife of 39 years and also has two sons and two grandchildren. His wife is currently in treatment for cancer. When I asked him what he does for fun he replied that he likes to swim with her as it helps to ease the treatments she is going through. He spends most of his free time helping her to win the battle.

DG Collision Team MarcosMarcos — Buffer/Polisher

Our paint prep tech. He had been working for C&L three and a half years before becoming a dg employee in February. He has been working as a painter’s helper for 16 years. Marcos is fast and efficient at his duties and always keeps a positive attitude.

  • Marcos chose this line of work because he likes the satisfaction of seeing results from his hard work.
  • His favorite tool is the polisher buffer, and his favorite job was a lifted Ford F-350 that we did at DG Collision.
  • He is proud to be a member of the DG Dream Team because we all pool our efforts to find solutions and hardly ever have disagreements.
  • Marcos lives at home with his wife and 5-year-old son. He enjoys relaxing and going camping occasionally.

Rodolfo Molina AKA Rudy — Master Collision Repair Painter

Like his brother Luis he started with C&L but 29 years ago. He is a DG Transplant from the beginning of the year and is our Painter. Rudy is certified by PPG automotive paints as a master paint technician. He has always been attracted to painting cars and making them shine. His favorite art of the trade is color sanding and buffing.

The most memorable job for Rudy is a 1965 Mustang fastback that he painted complete and added two racing stripes from front to back. His favorite tool is his Iwata w400 spray gun.

In his time away from the shop Rudy is an avid runner and likes taking his family and dogs on walks. He plans a trip up to kern river every year as well.

When asked what makes him proud to be a DG Team member, he replied that he is proud to be a DG team member because he is improving his refinishing skills more quickly than ever before.
