Spring has sprung and, with it, residue from a harsh Southern California winter probably clings to the outside of your car. When was the last time you washed that thing, anyway? Although April showers bring May flowers, now is the safest season to detail your vehicle. So, bring your car into DG Collision Center this month and mention this blog post to receive 10 percent off of your complete detail, which is just $250.
Although most drivers think car washing and detailing are the same thing. This is simply not the case. Detailed car washing goes well beyond what occurs during the normal car washing process. Detailing will make your automobile look spotless, inside and out. Unlike car washing, detailing does not rely on an automated system to clean your car. Instead, detailing involves handwashing by experienced detailers. In most cases, car wash detailing is divided into two components: Interior Detailing and Exterior Detailing.
Exterior Detailing
This involves vacuuming, restoring, and improving the original condition of the exterior constituents of a vehicle. Typically, this includes tires, windows and wheels, and other visible components. Products include, but are not limited to, polishes, wax, detergents and degreasers.
Interior Detailing
Interior detailing involves cleaning the inner parts of a vehicle. Some of the components found in the interior cabin include leather, plastics, vinyl, carbon fiber plastics and natural fibers. To clean the interior cabinet, technicians rely on specialized techniques like steam-cleaning and vacuuming.
- Vacuuming
The first step includes vacuuming seats, headliners, rear cargo area, trunk and shelf. In some cases, an air compressor is used, to remove dust inside vents and other hard-to-reach places.
- Brushing and Steam Cleaning
Deep cleaning carpets and mats form the bases of a clean car interior. We thoroughly scrub mats to remove stains and blemishes that have formed over time. For maximum efficiency, we use a steam-cleaner. We leave carpets to completely dry before returning to vehicle, to eliminate mold and mildew. - Glass Cleaning
We use a professional grade glass cleaner to make glass sparkle and shine. This restores the driver’s clean, clear view of the world outside his windows.
- Leather Trimming
We rely on leather cleaner, saddle soap and leather soap to clean and condition leather. We soap everything up and then use a damp cloth to remove excess soap. | - Re-Vacuuming and Wiping
This is important after vacuuming. Removes dirt from the interior cabin. We wipe dashboards and with a clean cloth and a non-toxic cleaning agent. We do this to restore the car’s finish. - Good Scents
Finally, we leave the car with a fresh, clean scent.
