Don’t you hate it when someone smashes into the side of your car with a grocery cart or opens their car door into yours? One of those irritating events happened recently to me. And the result was a semi-circular gash on the rear passenger side panel of my 2018 Blue Mazda 3. Since the perpetrator fled the scene without leaving so much as a business card, I was left to face the damage, which was admittedly minuscule in the grand scheme of things. But since I have owned the car for less than a year, I wanted to repair the scratch. I like my carand try to take care of it. Enter DG Collision Center.
Although I live 35 miles from DG Collision Center, I was willing to make the trip to drop off my car because of Dan Hansenand the DG Collision Center team. Dan Gogh (as he is known, since he is an artist, like his namesake) made the process seamlessand pain free.
- My husbandand I drove two cars to DG Collision Center on a Wednesday afternoon, so I could drop off my carand catch a ride home. We were pleased to hear that the damage would be repaired by Friday. In 2021, most things move at a glacial pace. So, for a busy auto body shop to repair my car in 48 hours was a noteworthy achievement.
- While the vehicle was at the shop, the DG Collision Center team sent me text updates. The first one assured me that my auto body repair was underway: “Thank you for allowing DG Collision Center to service your Mazda. We will provide you with an updated status soon.” (The text also offered me an option to stop receiving text messages. But I appreciate being in the loop. So, I didn’t take the out.)
- The next text update announced that my car was ready for pickup! True to his word, Danand his team repaired my car in less than 48 hours. “Update: Your Mazda is all fixedand ready to come home! We will call you soon if we haven’t already, to arrange pickup. DG Collision Center.”
- Since it was more convenient to retrieve my car on the weekend, my husband and I drove back to the Covina collision repair center on Saturday morning while it was pouring rain.
- My car was sitting in front of the showroom. I can honestly say that, even in the storm, it looked better when I picked it up than it did when I first purchased it last spring. The damage was minimal, so I chose not to involve my insurance company. But if I had called an adjustor, reporting the damage is the only thing I would had to have done. Danand his team would have managed the rest. They would have also arranged for me to be picked up by Enterprise Rental Car staff if I needed a loaner vehicle. Managing headaches for clients is one of their specialties.
- Coincidentally, the battery in my key fob died while at the shop. But instead of ignoring the issueand leaving me to deal with it, Danand his team scoured the shop to try to find the right battery to replace it. Thankfully, they found one. And Dan figured out how to open the foband replace the battery. It was a small thing. But I greatly appreciated their extra effort.
- As you can see from the “after picture,” the unsightly scratch is gone. And I would recommend DG Collision Center to anyone whose vehicle requires auto body service.
